Personal Year Forecasts for Annual Review Consultations

Calculate a client's Personal Year, Month and Day, see the next three years side by side with the Universal Year, and add a written forecast narrative on Gold.

Personal year forecast numerology is the timing side of your practice. The core chart describes who the client is; the Personal Year describes the season they are in. This page explains what NumberTeller's forecast tools calculate, the conventions behind them, and how to build an annual review consultation around them.

The practitioner problem

Many clients return once a year. They want to know what the coming year holds, when to launch, move or rest, and why the last year felt the way it did. A good annual review answers those questions in layers: the year, the months within it, and the longer life period around it.

Doing this by hand is slow, and the conventions are easy to mix up. Is the year counted from 1 January or from the client's birthday? Is 2027 reduced to 2 first, or kept as 11? Each choice can change a compound number, and a client who sees two practitioners may get two different years.

The fix is the same as everywhere in this library. Choose one convention, document it, and apply it to every client.

What it does

The forecast sits within the transit chart and the core chart. It covers:

  • Personal Year 1–9. The theme of the client's current year.
  • 3-year view. The app computes the Personal Year for the current year and the next two, so you can show a client where they are heading, not only where they are.
  • Personal Month and Personal Day. Each personal month number and day number gives finer timing within the year, for planning launches, meetings or rest.
  • Universal Year overlay. The collective year number, shown alongside the client's own.
  • Pinnacles and Challenges. The four long life periods and the lesson attached to each.
  • Essence numbers. Calculated from the transits of the letters in the first, middle and last names, giving a year-by-year progression.
  • Personal Year Forecast narrative (Gold and above). A written interpretation of the year, ready to discuss or include in a PDF.

How personal year forecast numerology works

Personal Year

Personal Year = birth month + birth day + current calendar year, each reduced, then added and reduced. This library uses the calendar convention: the Personal Year runs from 1 January to 31 December.

Some practitioners use a birthday-to-birthday convention instead, where the new Personal Year begins on the client's birthday. Both are taught. Pick one and say which you use in the reading.

Note master numbers as you go. If the final total is 11 or 22, record it as 11/2 or 22/4. Totals of 13, 14, 16 or 19 can be noted as karmic compounds.

Universal Year

Universal Year = the digits of the calendar year, added. For 2026 that is 2 + 0 + 2 + 6 = 10 → 1. For 2027 it is 11, shown as 11/2. For 2028 it is 12 → 3. In universal year numerology it describes the collective tone, against which the client's personal theme plays out.

Personal Month and Personal Day

Personal Month = Personal Year + calendar month number, reduced. Personal Day = Personal Month + calendar day, reduced. The month colours the year; the day colours the month.

Pinnacles and Challenges

Using the reduced month, day and year of birth:

  • First Pinnacle = month + day; Second = day + year; Third = First + Second; Fourth = month + year.
  • First Challenge = month − day; Second = day − year; Third = the difference between the first two; Fourth = month − year (always as positive differences).
  • The first Pinnacle commonly ends at age 36 minus the Life Path root. Each of the next two lasts nine years. Schools vary on these timings, so state yours.

Essence numbers

Essence number transits work letter by letter. Each letter of a name "transits" for a number of years equal to its value. The first, middle and last names run in parallel. Adding the active letter values for a given year gives that year's Essence number. It adds a name-based layer to the date-based Personal Year.

Worked example

Our sample client is Priya Sharma, born 15 August 1990 (fictional). All figures were checked in Python using the calendar convention.

Birth components

ComponentWorkingReduced
Month88
Day15 → 1 + 56
Year1990 → 19 → 10 → 11
Life Path6 + 8 + 1 = 1515/6

The 3-year view

YearUniversal YearPersonal Year workingPersonal Year
202610 → 18 + 6 + 1 = 1515/6
202711/28 + 6 + 11 = 2525/7
202812 → 38 + 6 + 3 = 1717/8

In 2027, the year is kept as 11 before adding. If it were reduced to 2 first, the total would be 16 rather than 25. The final 7 is the same, but the compound changes from 25 to 16/7, which some practitioners would read as a karmic compound. Your reduction convention decides which you see.

For a birthday-to-birthday practitioner, Priya's 6 year would run from 15 August 2026 to 14 August 2027. Before 15 August 2026 she would still be in the year that began on her 2025 birthday: 8 + 6 + 9 = 23, a 5 Personal Year.

Two Personal Months

MonthWorkingPersonal Month
November 2026PY 6 + 11 = 1717/8
April 2027PY 7 + 4 = 1111/2

As a Personal Day example, 6 November 2026 is Personal Month 8 + 6 = 14, noted as 14/5.

Pinnacles and Challenges

PeriodPinnacleChallenge
Birth to age 308 + 6 = 14 → 58 − 6 = 2
Ages 30 to 396 + 1 = 76 − 1 = 5
Ages 39 to 485 + 7 = 12 → 35 − 2 = 3
From age 488 + 1 = 98 − 1 = 7

The first period ends at 36 − 6 = 30. Priya turns 36 in 2026, so she is in her second Pinnacle (7) with a second Challenge of 5.

Reading the layers together

In 2026, Priya's Personal Year 6 sits in a Universal Year 1. Family, home and responsibility are personal themes while the collective mood favours new starts. In 2027 a reflective 7 year meets a Universal 11/2, and her 7 Pinnacle reinforces it. In 2028 an 8 year brings attention to work, money and authority. For a practitioner, that three-year arc is the backbone of the reading.

Using it in a consultation

  1. Confirm the date and convention. Check the client's date of birth and tell them whether you use the calendar or birthday convention.
  2. Look back first. Ask how the previous Personal Year felt. It builds trust and tests the reading.
  3. Present the current year. Explain the Personal Year theme and how it sits with the Universal Year.
  4. Show the 3-year arc. Clients plan better when they see the next two years, not just this one.
  5. Add the life period. Place the year within the current Pinnacle and Challenge.
  6. Drill into months. Mark Personal Months that suit the client's specific plans.
  7. Layer Essence where relevant. If the name transits shift during the year, mention it as a supporting note.
  8. Deliver a written summary. On Gold, the narrative and the PDF with interpretation text give the client something to revisit.

Limits and responsible use

A personal year forecast in numerology describes themes and timing tendencies. It does not predict specific events, and it should not be used to frighten a client about a "bad" year. Every Personal Year number has constructive uses.

Avoid telling a client to make or avoid major decisions on numerology alone. Medical, legal and financial choices belong with qualified professionals. Use the forecast to help the client reflect and plan, alongside their own judgement.

Conventions also differ on the year boundary, master-year reduction and Pinnacle timing. The worked example uses one documented set.

Frequently asked questions

Does the Personal Year start on 1 January or on the birthday?

Both conventions are used. This library uses the calendar year. Whichever you choose, state it in the reading and apply it to every client.

Why show three years instead of one?

The 3-year view helps a client see the arc of their cycle. A 6 year leading into a 7 and then an 8 tells a fuller story than a single number.

How is the Universal Year used?

As context. When the Personal Year and Universal Year match, the theme is often felt more strongly. When they differ, the client may feel out of step with those around them.

What does the Gold narrative add?

It adds a written forecast interpreting the Personal Year. You can use it as a starting point and add your own insights before sharing it.

Do Essence numbers replace the Personal Year?

No. Essence numbers come from the name and add a second layer. The Personal Year from the date of birth remains the main timing number.
