Numerology Remedies for Practitioners

Turn missing Lo Shu numbers into clear, element-based suggestions, and connect them to name spelling, number choices and timing, with responsible practice built into the guidance.

Clients rarely stop at "what does my chart say?" They usually ask "what can I do about it?" Numerology remedies are the traditional answer to that question. NumberTeller links each missing Lo Shu number to its element and shows how to support that element, alongside name, number and timing suggestions, so your guidance is consistent and grounded in a clear method.

The practitioner problem

Missing numbers are often the first thing a client notices on a Lo Shu grid. Empty boxes look like gaps, and gaps invite worry. How you respond shapes the whole consultation.

Without a method, remedy advice drifts: a colour one week, a crystal the next, with no thread linking them. Clients notice.

There is also an ethical problem in the wider field. Some remedy selling relies on fear: expensive stones, urgent rituals, promises of wealth or marriage. A responsible practitioner needs a framework that is simple, affordable and honest. That is what this feature is designed to support.

What it does

  • Missing number to element mapping. Each missing Lo Shu number is matched to one of the five elements: Water, Wood, Fire, Earth or Metal.
  • Productive-cycle suggestions. To strengthen a weak element, the guidance points to the element that produces it.
  • Exhaustive-cycle awareness. The guidance also notes which element drains the weak one, so you can avoid adding more of it.
  • Practical remedy examples. Colours, objects and directions for each element, with gemstones offered only as an optional traditional suggestion.
  • Name spelling remedies. Link a weak number to a spelling adjustment, tested in AI Name Correction.
  • Number choice remedies. Suggestions for house, car and mobile numbers that support the chart.
  • Timing remedies. Use Personal Year cycles to plan when to act on a change.
  • Written in the interpretation. Remedial guidance appears with the written interpretations, so the client receives it in context.

How numerology remedies work

The element map

The Lo Shu remedy system assigns each number to an element. These are the associations NumberTeller uses:

NumberElement
1Water
2Earth
3Wood
4Wood
5Earth
6Metal
7Metal
8Earth
9Fire

Some schools use slightly different associations. Choose one map and use it consistently.

The productive cycle

In the productive cycle, each element feeds the next:

Metal → Water → Wood → Fire → Earth → Metal

Metal produces Water, Water produces Wood, Wood produces Fire, Fire produces Earth, and Earth produces Metal. To support a weak element, you add a little of the element that produces it.

The exhaustive cycle

In the exhaustive, or draining, cycle, each element uses up the one before it:

Wood exhausts Water · Fire exhausts Wood · Earth exhausts Fire · Metal exhausts Earth · Water exhausts Metal

If a client already lacks an element, piling on the element that drains it works against your aim. Good remedies support and avoid draining at the same time.

Remedy examples by element

These are the kind of examples the guidance draws on. The first three appear directly in the app's remedy text. The Earth and Metal lines follow the same productive-cycle logic.

Weak elementSupport withExample suggestions
WaterMetalMetal bowls, wind chimes or coins in the North; white, gold or silver décor
WoodWaterA small water feature in the East or South-East; dark blue or black accents
FireWoodLive plants or wooden objects in the South; green and brown
EarthFireWarm lighting or candles; red, orange and warm tones
MetalEarthCeramic or stone objects; yellow, beige and earthy tones

Directions and colours vary between Feng Shui schools. If you work with a Feng Shui consultant, agree the conventions you both use.

Gemstones may be mentioned as an optional traditional suggestion. They are never necessary, and a remedy plan should work perfectly well without them.

Numerology remedies beyond the grid

Element work is only one strand of numerology remedies. Three others are often more practical:

  1. Name spelling. A small change to how a client writes their name can shift the Expression or Soul Urge number. Test any variant in Name Correction, which checks harmony with Birthday and Life Path.
  2. Number choices. When a client is choosing a mobile number, car registration or flat, you can favour numbers that support their chart.
  3. Timing. A Personal Year 1 is traditionally a year for beginnings. Suggesting that a client time a launch or a move to a supportive year is a gentle, low-cost remedy.

Worked example

Our sample client is Priya Sharma, born 15 August 1990 (fictional). All figures were checked with a short script.

Step 1: the grid

Her non-zero digits are 1, 5, 8, 1, 9, 9. Her missing numbers are 2, 3, 4, 6 and 7.

Step 2: map missing numbers to elements

Missing numberElement
2Earth
3Wood
4Wood
6Metal
7Metal

Step 3: element balance

ElementNumbersPresent in gridCount
Water112
Wood3, 4none0
Fire992
Earth2, 5, 85, 82
Metal6, 7none0

Wood and Metal are absent. Earth is present through 5 and 8, so the missing 2 is a weak point rather than an absent element. Water and Fire are each present twice.

Step 4: apply the cycles

  • Wood (absent). Water produces Wood, so the traditional suggestion is a small water feature in the East or South-East and dark blue or black accents. Fire drains Wood, and Priya already has two 9s, so you would not add extra Fire décor in that area.
  • Metal (absent). Earth produces Metal, so ceramic or stone objects and earthy tones are suitable. Water drains Metal, and Priya already has two 1s, which is worth noting in the reading.

Notice the balance here. Priya's Water supports her missing Wood but drains her missing Metal. This is why remedies need a little thought rather than a fixed list. Keep the suggestions modest and let the client choose what feels practical.

Step 5: non-element remedies

Priya's Life Path is 15/6, using this library's component method. For a client like her, you might also check whether her name's Expression number harmonises with 6, and look at her Personal Year before suggesting the timing of a major change.

Using it in a consultation

  1. Read the grid first. Discuss strengths and complete lines before you mention anything missing.
  2. Name the elements. Show which elements are absent or weak. Clients often find the five-element picture easier to grasp than a list of numbers.
  3. Explain the logic. Describe the productive and exhaustive cycles in a sentence or two. Clients trust a suggestion more when they understand why.
  4. Offer two or three options. For each weak element, give a colour, an object and a direction. Let the client pick what suits their home and budget.
  5. Add one numerology remedy. A name, number or timing suggestion often carries more weight than décor.
  6. Write it down. Remedial guidance is part of the written interpretations on Gold and Platinum, so the client can keep it.
  7. Review later. Revisit at the next Personal Year review and adjust if needed.

Limits and responsible use

This is the most important section on this page. Numerology remedies are traditional, supportive suggestions. They are not treatments, guarantees or protection.

  • No cure claims. Never suggest a remedy will cure illness. If a client raises a health concern, refer them to a qualified doctor.
  • No guarantees. Remedies do not guarantee wealth, marriage, success or the avoidance of misfortune. Say so plainly if a client expects that.
  • Low-cost and reversible first. A colour, a plant or a rearranged shelf can be undone tomorrow. Prefer these over expensive or permanent changes.
  • No fear-based selling. Do not frame a missing number as danger. Do not pressure a client into buying anything.
  • Gemstones are optional. Mention them, if at all, as a traditional suggestion only, never as necessary or curative.
  • Respect the client's choice. A client may decline every remedy. The reading still stands.

Responsible practice protects your clients and your reputation.

Frequently asked questions

Which element is linked to each Lo Shu number?

In the map NumberTeller uses, 1 is Water; 2, 5 and 8 are Earth; 3 and 4 are Wood; 6 and 7 are Metal; and 9 is Fire. Some schools vary, so choose one map and stay consistent.

Why not just add the missing element directly?

Many practitioners do both. The productive-cycle approach adds the element that feeds the weak one, the traditional logic used in the app's guidance.

Are gemstones required?

No. Gemstones are mentioned only as an optional traditional suggestion. Every remedy plan should work without them.

Can a name change be a remedy?

Yes. A spelling adjustment can shift the Expression or Soul Urge number. Test variants in Name Correction, which checks harmony with Birthday and Life Path before you recommend anything.

Do remedies appear on the Silver plan?

Silver shows the grid and missing numbers. Remedial guidance is part of the written interpretations on Gold and Platinum.
